Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro is een besturingssysteem dat speciaal is ontworpen en geoptimaliseerd voor medische apparaten en geldautomaten. Het is gebaseerd op de nieuwe Windows 8.1-technologie en bevat alle Embedded Lockdown functies om het apparaat te beveiligen. Aangezien het systeem is gebaseerd op het volledige Windows 8.1 Pro biedt het volledige compatibiliteit voor toepassingen, apps en stuurprogramma's.

1. Eenvoudige installatie

Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro gebruikt dezelfde setup als de retailversie. Hierdoor kunnen dezelfde bekende tools worden gebruikt om het besturingssysteem op de apparaten te installeren en te implementeren.

2. Lockdown Kenmerken

Add additional security to your embedded images by using the Lockdown Features. Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro introduces the new Unified Write Filter that combines the best of Enhanced Write Filter, File Based Write Filter and Registry Filter! It also adds the USB Filter to create a black or white list for USB devices that can be used on the device.

3. Aanpasbare

Met Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro kun je functies toevoegen en verwijderen via het dialoogvenster "Windows-functies in- of uitschakelen".

4. Embedded Lockdown Manager

The new Embedded Lockdown Manager allows administrators to manage the Lockdown Features remotely. This can be done via graphically the new MMC Snap-In of met PowerShell-scripts met de verbeterde WMI interface.

Met de MMC Snap-In kun je eenvoudig de Unified Write Filter, Keyboard Filter Driver, Dialog Filter en Shell Launcher configureren.

5. Beveiliging

Use Secure Boot to ensure that only a verified image of Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro can be booted on the device.
Protect the systems harddisk with BitLocker and bind it to the TPM chip. This way the harddisk will only work if it is in the device – all your IP will be protected.

6. Moderne UI

With Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro you can also include the new Modern UI to allow finger-friendly input on your devices. Even if you don’t need the new Modern interface you can make use of the new powerful WinRT library when building your applications.

7. Toetsenbordfilterstuurprogramma

Blokkeer ongewenste toetsen en/of toetscombinaties met de Keyboard Filter Driver. De nieuwe versie ondersteunt ook het filteren van toetsen van het On-Screen-Keyboard!

8. Taalpakketten

Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro is available in more than 30 languages. You can switch the language on the fly.

9. WinRT

Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro also includes the new Windows Runtime which is Microsofts new powerful framework for building the next generation applications. WinRT is considered as a replacement for the Win32 API and allows you to access all the systems functions very easily from within C++, .NET and even HTML5 applications

10. VHD opstarten

Install your Windows directly into a VHD file and boot from it. This enables you many features beginning from easier servicing, cloning, etc.

The OPK contains a bootable setup DVD which will guide you through the whole installation process directly on the device.

Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro includes additional features such as the Unified Write Filter to protect your image. Also you can use the new Embedded Lockdown Manager to configure the Lockdown Features locally or even remotely – either by using the MMC Snap-In or PowerShell scripts.
