Windows Embedded Standard 2009
Windows Embedded Standard 2009 is the second release of XP Embedded. A rich set of tools allows you to build a fully customized version of Windows XP Professional. Being split into over 13.000 components Windows Embedded Standard 2009 offers highest flexibility in terms of customizability and security because you can choose which parts of Windows should be included and which not.
Image Build Process
The Windows Embedded Standard 2009 image is build on a development machine using the Target Designer tool.
At first you need to retrieve the hardware information from the device with a tool called TAP.exe.
The output of this tool can be imported into Target Designer. After the import you can build the image according to your needs.
Target Designer will then build your image – this image can then be copied to the target device.
After that the target device can boot your image.
